Topeak's Panaram V10 cycling computer is pretty rad- 10 functions in all, the V10 takes care of al the necessities. Personally, I think it only has 9 functions, but if you wanna throw in the low battery indicator as a "function", then it's 10. But actually, it is a pretty nice feature- the V10 is fully programable, so when it comes time to switch batteries, you can write down your stats and plug them back in- and you'll know when to do so ahead of time! So I'm counting the low battery indicator. I said it takes care of all of the necessities and I guess it really does!

The V10 is a souped-up speedometer. It's got 3 speed readings: current, average, and max, in either miles or kilometers. It also keeps track of your trip distance, your current and average ride times, has an odometer that measures distance in tenths, and also has a speed pacer indicator. And at the same time, it's also a 12/24 hour clock! That pretty much takes care of all the necessities in my book.

It comes with mounting hardware and is easy to pop on & off, or switch between bikes if you'd like- just make sure to change your tire size after! And the computer itself is easy on/off with the push of a button- clicks in and out of place in a snap, so when you lock up, you can take it with you...doubling as a pocket watch- that's 11 functions- bonus! It also shuts off by itself after a short time when not being used to save battery life.

Personally, I like the wireless version better than the wired- 1 more battery, but 1 less wire...I guess that's for you to decide- just a matter of personal preference. I guess the wired version might be a "greener" choice, but if you have poor luck like me, your tightly wound wire would get snagged on something...or maybe it's just me. I look at it like a laptop- why be plugged in if you don't have to be?

Topeak has a WIDE range of cycling computers- the V10 is just the start! It all depends on what you're looking for- so check out their site- they have product comparison to help decide which model suits your needs best. For me, the V10 is just fine.
