I went on a bike tour awhile ago, and found out a sleeping bad is more important then I thought, so when I got home I got a hold a Thermarest to see about testing out a few of there pads. when I emailed them they said they would also like to send one of there sister companies Seal Line backpacks…who am I to so no, so this bag shows up and i'm pretty blown away. The bag kinda looks like the Ortlieb bag that we reviewed awhile back. This bag is the same basic idea its a dry bag for kayaking with backpack straps attached to it. The bag is a roll top with locking straps to form a watertight seal.
The inside is nothing fancy- just a big bag- no penholders, no pockets, just big open space. It does have an outside pocket, but it's kind of a pain because its really tight. They also make an assortment of add-ons for the outside and inside of the bag .The advantage to this bag is that it’s a light color and it lets some light through so you can see what you're looking for.
The bag is comfortable on my back and has a ton of adjustments to keep it that way. It comes with a sternum strap and waist strap, so heavy loads are no problem. The one thing I don’t like about roll top bags is that they create a blind spot over your shoulders, but you kind of get used to it.
Overall I liked this bag a lot. It was big, but not too big. The simplicity is kind of nice these days, and the fact it's completely water-proof makes me feel better when its pouring and I have my laptop with me. The price is really good for this bag- im pretty bummed I have to send it back to be honest.
