Organic Bikes Multi-tool

Organic Bikes sent me a box of stuff to review- the 11 in 1 tool is the first thing I will review. First impression is that this is a nice looking tool. The bamboo sides give it that earthy feel & being that that's what Organic Bikes is all about…well, making organic products- this makes sense.

Now for technical part. The 11 in 1 tool has pretty much everything you will need to adjust or repair your bike on and off the road. It has all of your basic metric allen wrenches, a few screwdrivers, plus it has the allen wrench to tighten your cranks, and a chain tool. I feel that these are really important things.

I won't buy a multi-tool without either of these things. I remember once I broke a chain a long way from home and was able to repair it, because I had a chain tool with me, and having a loose crank and not being able to tighten it on the road can cost you a lot of money. You think "well, i'll baby it till I get it home", and when you get there you can never tighten it again and end up needing a new crank set.

This is why its important to have these things and Organic Bikes does a great job of putting it in nice package. I really like the way the chain tool folds flat into the tool. I have used a tool where the chain tool sticks out the top and gets caught on everything. This tool fits nicely into you pocket and will do everything you need it to.

This is now the only tool I carry. The one thing I wish it had was a 15mm wrench on it. I really want a mutitool with a 15mm wrench, and it seems with the amount of people riding fixed/single speed/internal hubs, that the 15mm wrench would be an important thing.

Overall, it’s a great tool and a great company to support- the price is really good for this much tool, and they do make an 8 in 1 for a little less, but its lacking the chain tool and the crank wrench. This would make a really great gift for anyone who rides.
