Kenda sent us three sets of tires- I'm slowly working my way through them...this time I'm reviewing the Konstrictor tire. I have these on my road bike.

It's my everyday rider in the warmer months. I have had these on for the last month and half, and have 400/500 miles on them so far in all weather conditions. They're rated at 125 psi, so they're pretty fast and the ride is smooth. They also have Kenda's Iron Cloak design which is supposed to stop flats. I can honestly say it's pretty good! I have only had two flats with these- the first was in the rear and totally my fault. I was fallowing a car too close and didn’t see a pot hole in time...the back wheel hit super hard and gave me a pinch flat, so no fault of the tire there. The second was on the front tire. I have do idea what I rode through, but I ended up with three holes in it! I rode through a spot were they just finished some road construction and think that's where it happened. My friend rode through the same spot later that night and also got a flat, so it had to be something in the road.

I have been looking at the tires and found glass embedded in them with no flat! I also have a huge gash in the rear- so much so, that if i'm going to go out for long ride I will put on a different tire, but still no flat from it.

It’s been really wet here in Chicago so far this year, and the Konstrictors have kept me upright on the wet roads. The best time to try out the grip of a tire is just when it starts to rain- the roads are covered in oil from the cars, and it's slippery as hell! But no problems at all.

If I were riding fixed gear I would have no problem running these tires. I feel like you could skip them a pretty good amount before they blow out. They only come in 700x23, but they do come in two colors: all black and the ones i'm rocking in- black and gold. If you're in the market from some new tires that you're not going to have to worry about and still want to go fast, pick up a set of the Konstrictors- you wont be disappointed!
