Watching the Tour deFrance and seeing Dave Zabriskie, I realized I hadn't done the review for dznuts. It's hard to take something called "dznuts" seriously, and the fact it's chamois cream makes it even harder- I'm laughing just writing this review, but if you ever needed chamois cream its very serious.
A few years ago I rode my pedicab in the rain for a few hours. the next day I got up and was in some serious pain in my nether-regions, and still had a week of pedicabbing. I had this sample of chamois cream that I got some place and decided that I was out of options. I smeared it into my bike shorts and took off. Within a block I realized this stuff is for real- it was heaven! I'm talking hardly any friction- I was able to keep working and haven't looked back.
I have used a few different creams in the past, but when I saw dznuts I had to give it a try...I mean come on!
Anyway, I have used it on one tour and half a summer of pedicabbing and totally dig it. Its a little thinner than the creams I have used in the past, but the ingredients make up for that- the three key ingredients are tea tree oil: a powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal, Evodia: powerful anti-inflammatory and wound healing from traditional Chinese herbal medicine, and Materwort (Peucedanum Ostruthium): an herb found in the Swiss Alps used by ancient Greeks for wound healing and calming properties -- the name means “Supreme Strength”, so what does all that mean?
It means if you ride a lot and know how much chafing hurts, or how much a saddle sore sucks, this cream will help you keep riding. I also like that the cream is all natural and they don't use animal byproducts. The site says they try to use fair-trade ingredients and organic products whenever possible.
If you're shopping chamois cream, give dznuts a serious shot- the logo and name are funny, but the product is serious.

I just want to add, that before our tour, I had never used chamois cream in my shorts. What a difference!!! the first minute or two it's a little slippery, but once it all soaks in, you're good to go! You'll start to feel a little tingling sensation going on with a little cooling effect- similar to Bengay but without feeling like your goods are on fire!!! dznuts is nice, and after 200+ miles I've never felt better. I'm a firm believer now...I could just use another pair of shorts or two!
