Darn Tough Socks -Hike/Trek Micro Crew Model

Ric Cabot's family has been knitting socks for 3 generations- and for the last 30 years, they've been knit in the green mountains of Vermont! These are premium, all weather socks.

I'm not saying premium just because the package says so- i know the difference between a standard cotton tube sock and a premium sock. I've also been wearing a different pair for about a week. That's not completely true- for a full test i wore a pair for a few days in a row and they passed the test. They didn't smell, they weren't stiff, and they were still comfy.

These socks are pretty rad, and Darn Tough stand behind them offering an unconditional lifetime guarantee- "if our socks aren't the most comfortable and durable socks you've ever owned, return them for your money back. -Ric".

Personally I prefer taller socks while Cole prefers shorter socks, so Darn Tough sent us a bunch of both, so expect more Darn Tough reviews from both of us soon!

The Hike/Trek Micro Crew model is a 3/4 length with a cushioned bottom. Knitted with coolmax yarns that are engineered to move moisture away from your skin, fast drying, and also enhance comfort.

Darn Tough also does fine-gauge knitting which means more stitches per inch to insure a secure, foot hugging fit- which basically boils down to less bulk and more comfort all around. They also use a 4-ply nylon abrasion resistant yarn to reinforce the heel, toe, and foot bottom with deep pockets for your heel to help eliminate blisters and hot spots! As if that weren't enough, the 3/4 length offers plenty of support in the mid-section to keep them from quitting on you- ie: slipping, falling down, etc.

Finishing these off is a nice mountain logo embroidered at the top on the sides, and the company name adorns the top of the toes. These are also offered made with natural Merino wool as opposed to Coolmax. I really like them both, but will take Merino wool every time if it's an option, but i tested the Coolmax version. Either way, i'm completely sold!

As an added bonus, the packaging was printed on recycled paper with water soluble glues and vegetable based inks!
