This has been a few months in the works and the day finally came! I've been wanting to ride a Dahon for quite some time... Monday, FedEx showed up and left one on my front steps! That's part of the beauty of living in the country- Most delivery services will leave packages whether you're home or not with little to no chance of theft. I was only a couple rooms away, my puppy dog was still asleep and neither of us heard him pull up. I went outside to check the mail shortly after to find a nice sized box with a big fat Dahon logo on the side! No AK's involved...strictly a good day!!!

I try to keep my reviews clean and sparkly even if I act like a pirate (or an ass depending on who you ask!) and talk like a sailor, but when I popped the box open it was a constant stream of long, drawn out wows & holy shits for a good 15 minutes at least. Seriously, yeah- WOW & HOLE-E-SHIT!!! What a rad bike! Way stoked to say the least! But enough of me & my potty mouth- let's get back to the Dahon.

Pulled it out of the box and had it unfolded and locked down in seconds- it probably took about 30 seconds tops just looking at it. It's that simple. All that was left to do was pump up the tires, pop the pedals on, and give all the bolts a quick check...good to go!

Simple in this case doesn't lack in quality by any means. Component wise, the Mu XL Sport is in the middle of the road for Dahon's standards- But their standards must be pretty high! Ergon grips, an integrated bell in one of the brakes, and a Shimano Nexus 8 speed internal hub just to name a few... Nice touches all around! It was also the first bike that came with a little bottle of touch up paint, which I think is totally rad.

With only a little over a day to test it out, I rode around town for a little bit and gotta say it's a super smooth, quiet ride.

I'll be back soon with more details. I'm on the train to Chicago to hang out with my bros, drink some beers, ride bikes, take care of some business...all that. Preparing for the train I refolded the Dahon, wrapped it up tightly with a tarp just in case Amtrak wanted to give me any crap- which they didn't! I brought it right on board and stuck it with the suit cases, no problem. Not even a funny look- Well, maybe a few, but it wasn't from the bike- I can guarantee that!

Right now I'm sitting on the train, waiting to get to Union Station so I can unfold that bad boy, have a smoke, and roll!

Big props to Steve for making this happen!!!

Stay tuned peoples...there'll be more on the way soon!
