I love my messenger bag, but there's been a lot of times- and short trips- where i wish i had a backpack instead. Enter the Commuter Backpack from Cyclelogical.
First off, wow! This bag is packed with features. I know my reviews tend to be favorable, but i can honestly say that if they are, that it's a really good product that i like a lot. i feel lucky to be in the position that i'm in- i honestly haven't gotten any junk or crappy products yet. i'm not just blowing smoke to make anyone happy. i only blow smoke when i'm smoking...a dirty habit, i know. But enough about me- let's get back to this awesome bag.
As I was saying, this bag is packed with features. Let's start at the front and work our way back- first off, the bag itself fells super tough and has really cool alternating stripes of blue and silvery reflective stitching. then going down the front, there's a big reflective strip that velcro's on, and it can be swapped out for their solar panel strip which i'm still trying to get the low down on. The front flap zips up on both sides and velcroed in the middle to reveal a huge mesh pocket. at the top of this pocket (outside of the bag) there's about a 4"-5" opening so you can just reach down and fish for what you want, or the opening is large enough to pack things like poster tubes and yoga mats with room for them to pop out of the top. brilliant.
Next, the main/middle zipper (one for each side) unzips all the way so you can lay your pack out flat. the front end features a mesh bag for clothing that's as deep as the bag itself with a full length vertical zipper going straight down the middle. on top of that are two shoe pockets, but this also velcro's in the middle and let's you securely store more clothes. the other side is in similar fashion- on top is another velcroed together section, one side fully enclosed with a clear window and zips shut. the other side is a deep mesh pocket to hold all of your cords, cables, etc. like i said, it also velcro's together to restrain whatever you want behind it, and keeping it easy to get to. behind that is a padded flap that velcro's shut. pop that open and it reveals two more pockets- one for files and the like and the other padded for your laptop. then behind that there's one more pocket with a hardshell plastic back to keep it all flat.
The back is fully padded, and the fully adjustable straps are super padded. the straps also feature the same unique stitching pattern, and both straps have D hooks to hang whatever you need to hang- keys, ID- all that. then the compression strap slides up and down one side and is also fully adjustable too.
The bottom is made of some super heavy duty all weather proof material, and big mesh pockets on both sides to top it off. It sits perfect and feels comfortable packed full. if i had a seal of approval, it would go right here.
