bib shorts! we all make fun of them, you know you have too. i admit it, i did for a long time, but now i know the truth. while riding my pedicab this summer i did an 11 day event - thats 11 days of sitting on that bike. it was a pretty hot michigan summer this time around, i mean that hot kind of heat with awesomely high humidity. drippy. throughout the festival i rode in my regular bike shorts and a pair of trek something or others. anyway, the first few days were pretty cool, but then as the days wore on the waistband in the trek bike shorts quickly became my enemy. it felt so awful, all the sweat would collect and just irate my skin. by the 10 day mark i never wanted to put those shorts back on. i knew that i needed to do something and i knew what it was, bibs. i went to the local bike shop and told them what i was looking for, they recommended the pearl izumies so i gave them a shot. i put them on, looked at myself in the mirror and laughed ridiculously. i tried showing my girlfriend and she didn't want to look because she knew she would never look me the same ever again. good point. in an attempt to get past the looks i knew i would surely get i wore a jersey over the top. they ruled though. i rode another two hot-ass-nights in comfort. the pad is nice and cushy. and no f#*#ing waist band!

what cole didn't mention in this review was the time he tried using a port-o-potty while wearing those bibs. can you even begin to imagine an almost seven foot tall, hairless chewbacca trying to slip his jersey off over his head while trying to peel his bibs down to pee? it must have been awesome. oh, and he has a fear of anything germy, so put that phobia in the bib/port-o-potty mix and it's enough to make me shoot soy milk right out my nose – twice! - derek

i used the stock photo because you don't want to see me in these - cole
