in the beginning....

 

One Less Car is two brothers (and friends) obsessed with bicycles. We wanted t-shirts that were bike related, had a message and were unique; not just a t-shirt plasterd with advertising. After several beers (for one of us anyway), and throwing out ideas, we decided to just do it ourselves. So thats it, just a couple of guys (and a girl or two) in the back of a tattoo shop with a screen printing kit and some pretty damn good ideas, trying to make shirts that other bicycle enthusiasts might like, and hopefully purchase, so we can continue our bicycle addiction. (our old office to the left)

and now...

Update: well it's been 2 and half years since we started this whole one less car thing, and we've gone through a lot of changes. I was going to rewrite the 'about us', but the original makes me happy. that is how it started- my brother put up the $300 for a screen printing kit and him and my best friend Derek started giving me designs. I printed the crap out of them and built a pretty bad website and away we went.

Two and half years later we have moved. Me and Derek have moved to Chicago. We no longer print out of the back of the tattoo shop (now we are in the back room of our apartment). I recruited my other best friend Brandon to build our site, and our other roommate Zack as a product tester. My brother still sends me designs and occasionally writes reviews.

What I didn't expect of the whole adventure is all you guys and gals. I have made a lot of good friends because of this business. I get a ton of really great emails supporting what we are doing and lot of thank yous. I get so many ideas emailed to me that I decided that the people know what they want and have made a few shirts from designs customers gave us. When we started this whole thing I thought it would be a cool side job, but it has turned into something bigger than I ever thought, and I thank everyone who comes to our site.
